MÖGGELINSEE FOREST
MÖGGELINSEE Forest – a complete area of approx.. 4,200 ha, about 40 km south of Berlin, stretches over the district of Teltow-Fläming and Dahme-Spreewald.
Wald- und Grundbesitz GmbH acquired the areas in the years 2003 and 2004 from BBG as “MÖGGELINSEE Forest” in the 4 lots, namely Lebersee,
Möggelinseen, Schirknitzberg and Zehrensdorfer Pfuhl.
There are the 4 lakes on the properties
- the large Möggelinsee 50 ha – the property was named after this lake
- the small Möggelinsee 13 ha
- Lake Lebersee 15 ha
- Zehrensdorfer Pfuhl 3 ha
All lakes are leased to Andreas Schulz, a fisherman from Wünsdorf. In the last 10 years, a full path network, cleared of any munition, has been developed. We have done a lot for the preventive forest fire protection – from path construction and clearance of any munition to waste removal, fire exercises and the application of fire wound strips. Along all public ways, we have started to increase the amount of broad-leafed trees. Last but not least, we are proud of the good relationship with the volunteer fire department and the municipal fire chief of Zossen town.
