Double Recognition for Kronodesign® Trend Collection at the German Design Award 2027
The Kronodesign® Trend Collection has been named a Winner at the German Design Award 2027 in two categories of Excellent Product Design: Circular Design and Material and Surfaces. The double recognition covers both the look and feel of the surfaces and the thinking behind how they are made.
The award is presented by the German Design Council, founded in 1953 at the initiative of the German parliament to help industry compete through design. Only projects nominated by the Council can take part, and this year’s competition drew 3,159 entries from 51 countries.
The 43 jury members represent 15 nationalities on four continents and bring expertise from business, industry, academia and science. Entries go through several rounds of evaluation, ending in a two-day jury session. In Circular Design, the jury looks for solutions that put circular-economy principles into practice and take them a step further.
For architects, designers and furniture makers, the awards are outside confirmation of the collection’s quality. For Kronospan, they add an independent argument in every specification conversation and bring international visibility.
The winners will be celebrated on January 29, 2027, at Messe Frankfurt, where the Awards Show opens Ambiente, the international trade fair for living, dining and interiors.
