Sebeș, Romania – November 18, 2025 – Kronospan is pleased to announce the successful completion of its acquisition of ZG Timber’s Sebeș sawmill, formerly part of the Ziegler Group. The transaction ensures the continuity of operations at the Sebeș facility, maintaining employment for the more than 500 people currently working at the site and sustaining a wide network of indirect jobs across suppliers, contractors, logistics partners, and service providers whose activities depend on the sawmill.

With regulatory approvals now received and the acquisition officially finalized, the Sebeș sawmill will be integrated into Kronospan’s Romanian operations. This step reinforces Kronospan’s long-term commitment to Romania and reflects its confidence in the country’s industrial capabilities, even in a challenging economic environment.

As part of its broader growth and diversification strategy, Kronospan will integrate sawn timber from the Sebeș facility into its portfolio. This new product line supplements the company’s established production of particleboard (PB), medium-density fibreboard (MDF), and oriented strand board (OSB) in Sebeș and Brașov, complementing Kronospan’s sustainable suite of wood-processing solutions.
