From the North Sea to the Red Sea, around Africa or the fjords of Norway, to island adventures and South Seas voyages, the 440-strong crew of MS Amera enjoys the comfort created by Kronospan's decorative interior products.
Built in 1988, the Amera cruise ship joined the fleet of Phoenix Reisen GmbH, Hamburg in the summer of 2019 in Bremerhaven. In 2023, it was renovated and modernized. The P-O-I.Design studio transformed the staff areas with the Kronospan high-pressure laminate decors, perfect for surfaces that require increased durability and impact resistance.
So, let us start our on-board design journey with our Honey Castello Oak HPL. This decor defines the space of the crew bar - the life and soul of the personnel area, where everyone can have a drink after work or get down on the dance floor. Used as counter paneling and tabletop, it conveys a coordinated look.
An adaptable solution that always provides a cozy feel, K358 PW welcomes us again at deck 4, setting the mood of the staff’s social hotspots. Its soft brown-beige hues enhance the crew lounge, another place for relaxation, table games, book reading, or movie nights, and offer a calming and harmonious atmosphere. The beauty and practicality of this oak design tie together the vertical and horizontal furniture elements of the officers' mess, adorn the tabletops of the crew dining room and spread to the reception lobby sideboards at deck 8.
The reception zone of the cruise ship exudes elegance with counters and storage compartments designed in one of Kronospan's Most Preferred decors - 5981 Cashmere. A classic neutral shade, it is perfectly complemented by the sleek white concrete-like K349 RT Silk Flow, applied as furniture tops and partition elements. AL04 Brushed Gold bezels behind the monitors boost luxury, creating a timeless yet modern ambiance for guests.
The excursion office aboard the ship showcases a cohesive appeal in our off-white 0112 PE color. The muted hue adds a calming aesthetic, emphasizing the subtle beauty of the contemporary trend. The same design concept extends to the director’s cabin, where the closet is also finished with Stone Grey, which seamlessly integrates functionality with style.
Our journey takes us to the Amera Gold Lounge. The 0301 Cappuccino embraces the shelving and the wine fridge with its soft neutral tones and SU Super Matt texture. This versatile color is an easy match with different patterns and materials, confirming this in the high-end lounge furnishing.
In real-world projects, Kronospan HPL decors have proven to be an excellent choice for achieving classic or chic, durable interiors in demanding environments, like a cruise ship.
