Kronospan obtains clear victory over Akzenta’s unfounded lawsuit
With today’s first instance decision of the District Court of Düsseldorf* Kronospan has achieved a major victory in a patent litigation case initiated by Akzenta Paneele & Profile GmbH in May 2023 claiming infringement of their European patent (EP 1 891 283 B1) by several Kronospan products.
The Düsseldorf court has, in its distinct decision, rejected this claim as groundless and the claimed infringement as clearly not realized by any of the accused products.
Kronospan is more than pleased by this unambiguous Court decision supporting Kronospan’s argumentation of non-infringement. Moreover, Kronospan has filed a nullification action with the German Federal Patent Court regarding EP 1 891 283 B1 of Akzenta to have the German part of this European patent revoked.
